This is an extraordinary location. Fanshawe Pioneer Village is a living museum, with authentic buildings and artifacts re-creating society here in Middlesex County from 1820 – 1920. Actual historic buildings are on the site, including the original Labatt Brewery, two school houses, churches, Paul Peel’s home and several others, a blacksmith shop, tinsmith, grocer, newspaper building and mason’s lodge, among others. All are filled with actual artifacts from the era. Modern restrooms are on site, there’s plenty of parking and a large community centre outside the gate would work perfectly for craft and staging. It’s set in the gorgeous Fanshawe Conservation Area with forests, the river and a beautiful lake nearby. This is a ready made step back in time.
