In love with the art of storytelling at a young age, Abdulbasit attended a film program during his Senior Secondary School holiday where he learnt the basics of filmmaking including; Scriptwriting, Camera Operation, Directing, Editing etc. and by the end of the 3 months program, he directed and acted his first short film Insecurity which he posted on YouTube 2016.

In 2017, Abdulbasit joined the 4 years Communications & Multimedia Design program at American University of Nigeria where he learnt more about narrative filmmaking.

In 2021, during the final year of his undergraduate studies, Abdulbasit came up with ideas for different film productions including, TV commercials, short films etc. Hence, for his Capstone project, he directed a 3-episode “Mukbang” TV series for the school called ChitChat AUN.

After College, Abdulbasit started filming a documentary series Foolstot, where he hosts people who are willing to share stories on life changing / mind tormenting moments they have been through and either overcame or are constantly fighting to overcome. The intentions of this show includes, creating awareness, being a voice or the voiceless, being a rehab facilitator etc.

Alongside filming the documentary series, Abdulbasit worked at a media house “Inside9jeriaTV”  for 15 months where he filmed A-class artists and actors while directing interviews, concerts, etc then he went ahead to work at a real estate company “Bestate Investment” for 4 months before getting an admission to study Advanced Filmmaking in Ontario, Canada.

In 2023, Abdulbasit joined the Advanced Filmmaking program at Fanshawe College where he has been privileged to attend mind blowing lectures / workshops learning the process of Advanced Filmmaking from industry experts.
